Mississippi Home Corporation Awards over $8 Million in Housing Tax Credits

Jackson, MS—The Mississippi Home Corporation (MHC) has awarded over $8 million in Housing Tax Credits (HTC) to developers for the construction and rehabilitation of 589 units statewide. The developments will create over 500 jobs, which will provide $12.89 million in constructions wages and produce $67.78 million in related spending in their communities

MHC Extends Home Buyer Advantage Grant Program

Jackson, MS - June 23, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Mississippi Home Corporation (MHC) has extended the reservation period for its Home Buyer Advantage (HBA) grant program. The previous deadline for homebuyers to reserve funds was July 15, but the reservation period has been extended to September 13, 2010. The extended reservation period will allow MHC to disburse an additional $4 million in funds that were injected into the HBA program. Available HBA funds currently stand at $5.5 million, enough to fund an additional 180 reservations based on the average grant amount

MHC to Promote $40,000 Grant for Purchase of Foreclosed Properties

Oxford, MS - March 16, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Mississippi Home Corporation will hold two events to promote its new Home Buyer Advantage (HBA) program that provides grants of up to $40,000 to homebuyers purchasing foreclosed properties in qualifying areas across the state. The first event will be held on Tuesday, March 30 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Lafayette County & Oxford Library, 401 Bramlett Blvd. in Oxford. The second event will be held on March 31 at the Tupelo Library on 219 N. Madison St. in Tupelo from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public

Mississippi Home Corporation to Host Financial Health Workshop

Hattiesburg, MS - February 12, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Mississippi Home Corporation (MHC) will host a Financial Health Workshop on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Jackie Dole Sherrill Community Center, 220 West Front Street in Hattiesburg. MHC Awards $100,000 to Green Building Contest Winners

Gulf Coast Builders, LLC won the $50,000 and First Place for their affordable green home in Gulfport, MS. Mississippi Home Corporation Announces New Home Buyer Advantage Grant Program

Grants up to $40,000 to Help Purchase Foreclosed Properties. Jackson, MS - September 18, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Mississippi Home Corporation (MHC) is now taking reservations under its new Home Buyer Advantage grant program. The program will provide grants of up to $40,000 to qualified home buyers who purchase foreclosed properties in any of the 48 eligible communities across Mississippi. Unlike most of MHC’s other programs, the Home Buyer Advantage program does not require applicants to be first-time home buyers. The program limits applicants to those who earn 120% of the Area Median Income or below.
