Hurricane Isaac Causes Widespread Power Outages in Mississippi

Jackson, MS – August 28, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Utility companies in Mississippi are reporting 24,400 homes are without power as Hurricane Isaac slowly moved through the state.

Utility crews from Mississippi and other states are working to restore electricity to homes across south Mississippi.

As of 11 a.m., the following utility providers reported outages:

  • Electric Power Associations of Mississippi has 15,300 customers without power.
  • Mississippi Power has 7,600 customers without power.
  • Entergy has 1,500 customers without power.
